Control Contracts to Supply Flare Meter to Statoil 09:00 EST Wednesday, March 10, 2004 BURNABY,
BC, March 10 /CNW/ - Photon Control Inc. ("Photon") (TSX-VEN:
PHO) reports that it has been chosen to supply an optical flow meter to
measure flare gas for Statoil, the international oil and gas company
headquartered in Norway. The meter will be installed in the Tjeldbergodden
plant to measure flue gases at very high temperatures. Photon's meters are
uniquely suited to measure flare gas in widely ranging flow rates. "We
are very pleased to be working with such a progressive company as Statoil.
This gives Photon a good opportunity to test its technology in a new
application and in a substantial and growing market," reports S.
Robert Blair, President of Photon. About

Control Inc. develops products that use light (photons) for measurement
and control, using the inherent advantages of light over electricity: the
immunity to electromagnetic and RF interference, the absence of hazards
from electrical arcing or sparking or susceptibility to corrosion and
short-circuiting. Photon's products offer improvements in cost,
performance and safety. Photon manufactures its controls and sensors for
medical and hazardous environments and its LUMItouch(TM) optical response
system for research. Photon is currently developing a range of optical gas
flow meters for industry. For
